The mid lane in Patch 2.1.47 is not a safe farm lane anymore. Engage compositions come online faster, assassination timings are earlier, and mages who need space to breathe are running out of places to find it. The heroes who thrive are the ones who either punish that aggression or add enough team fight value to justify the pressure they absorb.
This is the mid lane tier list for Season 39 Patch 2.1.47, ranked by Mythic and Mythic+ win rate data from mlbbhub.com/meta. Every placement below comes with build context and emblem setup, not just a ranking.

Win rates sourced from Mythic-ranked games, Season 39. Data reflects Patch 2.1.47 as of February 2026.
#S-Tier Mid Laner
Kadita
53.0% win rate. That's the largest positive margin of any mage in the current patch, and the gap between her and the next mage is real.
Kadita is the only mid laner right now who dodges mages' primary weakness: getting dove and deleted before outputting damage. She does the diving herself. Her passive HP regeneration after taking hits gives her durability that has no business belonging to a burst mage, and in a tank-heavy, dive-heavy meta, that passive does serious work.
She spikes hard at items 2-3, which aligns with when Season 39 ranked games hit their decisive fights. That timing advantage is why her win rate is where it is.
Best Build (Mythic, 2026): Arcane Boots, Lightning Truncheon, Genius Wand, Holy Crystal, Divine Glaive, Blood Wings
Emblem: Custom Mage | T1: Inspire | T2: Bargain Hunter | T3: Lethal Ignition
Lethal Ignition fires on her third skill-chain hit, which lines up cleanly with her S1-S2-Ult rotation. Bargain Hunter helps her reach Lightning Truncheon faster, which is her power spike item.
Battle Spell: Flicker or Sprint. Sprint if the enemy has multiple gap-closers. Flicker for everything else.
Countered by: Kagura (Purify removes her wave combo). Any fast-gapping assassin who can close before she sets up.
#A-Tier Mid Laners
Zetian
51.4% win rate. Most contested pick in the mage pool right now.
Zetian wins games through map pressure more than raw damage. Her global ultimate reveals the full enemy map position and stuns anyone who doesn't dodge it in time. At lower Mythic brackets, that stun lands consistently. At Mythic Glory, opponents dodge it more reliably, but the threat alone forces repositioning.
What separates her from B-tier is the early game. Her S1 long-range poke combined with passive spell vamp means she doesn't need to win her laning phase to get to item two in decent shape.
Hard counters are Benedetta (43.1% WR against her) and Joy (45.9% WR against her). Both can close gap and kill her before she sets up.
Best Build: Arcane Boots, Clock of Destiny, Lightning Truncheon, Holy Crystal, Divine Glaive, Ice Queen Wand
Emblem: Custom Mage | T1: Inspire | T2: Bargain Hunter | T3: Impure Rage
Impure Rage for Zetian because she pokes repeatedly through a fight rather than unloading a single burst rotation. The mana restoration keeps her going in extended skirmishes.
Battle Spell: Flicker
Vexana
51.0% win rate. The most underrated A-tier pick this patch.
Vexana post-revamp is a different hero from what most players remember. Fastest wave clear in the mid lane. The Nether Curse chain explosions from her passive turn minion waves into instant-clear sequences, and wave clear speed translates directly to rotation timing. Get to side objectives and skirmishes while the enemy mage is still last-hitting.
The current meta with roamer-heavy tank compositions is exactly what she wants to see. Her Hanabi matchup sits at 59.8% WR, the highest positive differential of any mage this patch. Akai and defensive engage comps are her preferred opponents.
Counters: Ling and Esmeralda. Neither is dominant right now, which is part of why Vexana landed in A-tier.
Best Build: Ice Hunter's Arcane Boots, Enchanted Talisman, Ice Queen Wand, Clock of Destiny, Holy Crystal, Blood Wings
Emblem: Custom Mage | T1: Inspire | T2: Bargain Hunter | T3: Impure Rage
Impure Rage works here because Vexana's poke loop sustains through long fights. Ice Queen Wand pairs with it to add slow on each poke, giving her sustained zone control even without her ultimate active.
Battle Spell: Flicker

#B-Tier Mid Laners: The Crowded Middle
Eight mages between 49.0% and 50.9% win rate. All viable. All situational. Matchup awareness determines outcomes here more than mechanical execution.
| Hero | Win Rate | Strength | Main Weakness |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zhuxin | 50.9% | Consistent CC, forgiving floor | Mana-hungry, exposed early |
| Cecilion | 50.8% | Infinite scaling, late-game dominance | Needs 20+ min; zero escape |
| Kagura | 50.8% | High ceiling, built-in Purify | Skill-cap dependent; punishing floor |
| Lylia | 50.7% | Wave push pressure, ult safety reset | Selena and burst assassins delete her |
| Xavier | 50.4% | Global ult, outranges everything | No mobility, pure skillshot dependency |
| Yve | 50.1% | Zone grid, stun setup | Lancelot/Natalia walk through her ult |
| Pharsa | 49.7% | Safest poke range in mid lane | Stationary ult, assassin bait |
| Lunox | 49.6% | % HP dark ult, tank shredder | Difficulty 90; Gusion/Lancelot hard-counter |
| Eudora | 49.0% | Point-and-click stun, instant combo | No mobility, no repeat engage |
Build and Emblem Recommendations: B-Tier
Zhuxin runs Clock of Destiny into Lightning Truncheon. Her kit benefits more from CDR stacking than raw burst. Impure Rage (T3) pairs with her spam pattern.
Cecilion needs Enchanted Talisman into Clock of Destiny into Blood Wings. His stacking mechanic requires time. Play behind a stall composition or don't play him at all. Impure Rage is mandatory for his mana needs.
Kagura runs Arcane Boots, Clock of Destiny, Genius Wand, Holy Crystal, Divine Glaive, Necklace of Durance. Lethal Ignition on emblem. She needs the CDR to reset umbrella placements fast enough to matter. Check the Kagura combo guide for the full rotation breakdown.
Xavier benefits from Clock of Destiny stacking early, then Lightning Truncheon into Divine Glaive for pen. His global ultimate has a 57.8% WR against Cecilion and a 56.5% WR against Yve. If the enemy has either, Xavier becomes a strong counter-pick. No mobility, but the payoff when ahead is severe.
Lylia plays Clock of Destiny into Holy Crystal for wave dominance. Her ult repositions her to stored location with restored HP, which means she can play aggressively knowing she has a reset button. Selena is her hard counter. If enemy drafts Selena, don't pick Lylia.
Yve, Pharsa, Eudora: all three work with the spam-mage setup. Custom Mage | Inspire | Bargain Hunter | Impure Rage. Yve and Pharsa need safe positioning. Eudora just needs to land her stun once and the combo finishes itself.
The emblem guide covers the full Mage emblem talent breakdown if you want to go deeper on T1/T2 optimization per hero.
#C-Tier and D-Tier: Avoid in Solo Queue
| Hero | Win Rate | Tier | Why They're Struggling |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luo Yi | 48.7% | C | Ultimate coordination requirement is a solo queue liability |
| Novaria | 47.8% | C | Poke kit outclassed by Zetian and Xavier in range and impact |
| Harith | 45.6% | D | Mobility nerf broke his tempo; Chou (44.0% WR) and Gusion (43.5% WR) hard-counter him |
| Valentina | 41.3% | D | 41.3% win rate across all Mythic ranks. Bottom 10 hero regardless of role |
Valentina's collapse deserves a mention. The 41.3% win rate is not rounding error. Her mechanic depends entirely on enemy picks. Against compositions with roamers and fighters, her ultimate-steal has minimal value. The current meta features exactly that. She is a low-mobility mage with a mediocre kit when her ultimate can't copy anything meaningful.
Harith at 45.6% is a direct product of the CCed meta. His Chrono Dash rhythm breaks on contact with any reliable point-and-click CC, and Chou is a top-tier roamer this patch. Harith's S-tier patches existed in a different engagement environment. Not this one.
Luo Yi is not bad. She's a coordination pick in a solo queue format. Her portal ultimate requires teammates who understand and use it. In coordinated five-man, she's B-tier. In solo Mythic, she's a coin flip.
#Emblem Quick Reference: Mid Lane
| Archetype | Emblem | T1 | T2 | T3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Burst Mage (Kadita, Eudora) | Custom Mage | Inspire | Bargain Hunter | Lethal Ignition |
| Poke/Spam Mage (Zetian, Vexana, Yve, Pharsa, Cecilion) | Custom Mage | Inspire | Bargain Hunter | Impure Rage |
| Combo Mage (Kagura, Xavier) | Custom Mage | Inspire | Bargain Hunter | Lethal Ignition |
| vs. Assassin matchup (any mage) | Custom Mage | Vitality | Bargain Hunter | Lethal Ignition or Impure Rage |
The Vitality swap in the fourth row is not optional when you're against Lancelot, Gusion, or Saber. A dead mage at level four is a dead mid lane. Take the HP.
#Draft Priority for Ranked
The mobile legends best mid laners to pick in Season 39 solo queue, in order:
- Kadita if available and not counter-drafted. 53.0% win rate. Best mid laner for climbing right now.
- Zetian against immobile compositions. Global ult generates map pressure that forces defensive play from the enemy.
- Vexana into tank-heavy roamer comps. Fastest wave clear, solid CC, wins matchups the current meta creates.
- Zhuxin as a safe blind pick. Low floor, consistent CC, doesn't throw games. Good third pick.
- Cecilion or Lylia only if your team can stall to 20+ minutes. Both are draft risks without a defensive composition behind them.

#Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best mid laner in MLBB Season 39? Kadita at 53.0% win rate in Patch 2.1.47. She is the only true S-tier mid laner and the best solo queue carry in the role right now.
Is Valentina still good in Patch 2.1.47? No. 41.3% win rate across Mythic ranks. Her ultimate-steal mechanic requires enemy picks with strong copyable ultimates. The current roamer-heavy meta does not provide that. Avoid in ranked.
What emblem should mages use in mid lane? Custom Mage with Inspire (T1), Bargain Hunter (T2), and either Lethal Ignition (burst/combo mages) or Impure Rage (poke/spam mages) at T3. Against assassin matchups, swap T1 to Vitality.
Is Cecilion viable in Season 39? Viable at 50.8% win rate, but only in compositions that can stall to 20+ minutes. His scaling is real. The problem is Season 39 ranked games don't consistently reach his power window.
Who counters Kadita in the mid lane? Kagura counters Kadita most reliably. Purify removes the wave combo before it can connect. Fast-gap assassins like Lancelot or Gusion can also punish her before she sets up the wave dive.
