The MLBB Advanced Server is Moonton's test environment, and it's where the game gets shaped before you ever see it on the official servers. New heroes, reworks, balance changes, upcoming skins, and even experimental game modes all land here first, usually one to two patches ahead of the original server.
If you've ever been blindsided by a patch that gutted your main, or you want to learn a new hero before anyone else on your server has a clue how to play against them, the Advanced Server is where you should be.
Here's exactly how to get in.
#What the Advanced Server Actually Is
The Advanced Server is a completely separate instance of Mobile Legends. Your main account progress, heroes, skins, and rank do not carry over. You start fresh, but Moonton gives you access to all heroes for free so you can test anything you want.
It resets and reopens every Thursday, with roughly 40,000 slots available across 50 to 100 servers. Slots fill fast, so timing matters.
Because it's a test environment, expect bugs. UI elements break, skills behave unexpectedly, and server stability isn't guaranteed. That's the tradeoff.
#Who Can Join
Before anything else, check whether you qualify. The requirements are:
- Account level 15 or higher on your original server account
- Ping under 100ms (stable connection required)
- Located in Southeast Asia: Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, or Thailand
If you're outside SEA or your account is below level 15, you cannot access the Advanced Server through the standard in-game method. The TapTap beta route (covered below) is your alternative.
#Method 1: Switch Server In-App (Easiest)
This is the most straightforward method and works if you meet the requirements above.
Before you do anything else, bind your account. Go to Profile > Account Settings and make sure your account is linked to Facebook, Google, or TikTok. Switching servers without doing this risks losing access to your main account data.
Steps to access:
- Open Mobile Legends and tap your profile icon (top right)
- Tap Account at the bottom left
- Tap Switch Server
- Select Advanced Server from the list
If you've been approved, you'll see the Advanced Server listed and can switch immediately. If it's greyed out or not showing, the server is either full or you haven't been selected yet.
Important: Every time you switch between the Advanced Server and Original Server, you need to re-download all the game resources. Budget 10 to 20 minutes for that download before your first session each week.
If You Can't Get In
Slots run out within minutes of Thursday reset. The reset time varies by region but generally lands around midday GMT+7 to GMT+8. Set an alarm.
If you've missed slots multiple times, Moonton also issues direct invitations based on player activity. Playing at least 2 hours daily on your original server account improves your chances. Some players have also had success emailing Moonton directly to request access.
#Method 2: TapTap Beta App (Android)
This method works regardless of your region and doesn't require you to be selected through the standard process. iOS users need a direct invite from Moonton via TestFlight.
Steps for Android:
- Go to taptap.io and download the TapTap APK (you'll need to enable installation from unknown sources in your Android settings)
- Install TapTap and create an account
- Search for "Mobile Legends Bang Bang Beta"
- Download the Beta APK through TapTap
- Install it and register a new account to complete the tutorial
The TapTap Beta version of MLBB is a fully independent app from your regular MLBB install. It won't interfere with your main game data.
One catch: The Beta app on TapTap isn't always available for download. Moonton opens and closes the download window, usually on Fridays at around midnight PST. If you don't see a Download button on the page, check back the following week.
#Vanguard Coins: What They Are and How to Use Them
The Advanced Server has its own currency called Vanguard Coins. Think of them as your compensation for being a tester.
1 Vanguard Coin = 1 Diamond on the original server.
How to earn Vanguard Coins:
- Vanguard Benefits event: Claim up to five rewards per update cycle
- Daily tasks: Complete the task list to earn your weekly Vanguard Coin Supply
- Bug reports: Submit valid bug reports through the in-game feedback system and Moonton rewards you with coins
How to redeem them:
Go to the Recharge Center in-game. Your Vanguard Coins convert to Diamonds that land in your original server account. This is one of the only legitimate ways to earn Diamonds in MLBB without spending real money.
For TapTap users, the exchange is found under Events > the chest icon tab. Scroll down to find the conversion option.
#How to Give Feedback
Moonton actively reads Advanced Server feedback, and this is where players have real influence over what ships to live servers. Heroes have been rebalanced between their Advanced Server debut and official release based on player reports.
To submit feedback:
- Tap the Bug/Feedback button (usually accessible from the Settings menu or the in-game notification bar)
- Select the category: Bug, Balance Suggestion, or Feature Feedback
- Record your gameplay using the built-in screen recorder if the issue is visual or mechanical
- Submit with as much detail as possible (hero name, skill used, situation, what happened vs. what should have happened)
Vague reports get ignored. Specific ones, especially those with video evidence, actually get acted on.
#What's Currently on the Advanced Server
As of February 2026, Patch 2.1.56 dropped on the Advanced Server on January 30. It's one of the more significant patches in recent memory.
New hero being tested:
Marcel, the Soul Photographer, is live on the Advanced Server right now. He's a Support with time-manipulation abilities, including a control that's already been buffed from a 0.3s to 0.5s duration based on tester feedback. His base HP was also bumped from 2650 to 2740 in the same update. You can read a full breakdown of his lore and kit in Marcel's hero profile.
Aulus revamp:
Aulus received a full rework on the Advanced Server. His passive now builds stacks every second after dealing damage, scaling up to 6 stacks that enhance his Basic Attacks. His Skill 1 now starts generating Fighting Spirit stacks on cast, which synergizes with War Axe if equipped. The old HP Regen on his Skill 2 second cast is gone. His Ultimate now grants a brief burst of Movement Speed on the axe swing instead of a continuous boost.
Mid lane mage rebalance:
Patch 2.1.56's headline change is a sweeping adjustment to mage attributes and mana costs. Aurora, Gord, and Nana received the most meaningful buffs. Pharsa, Yve, Zhuxin, and Valentina took notable nerfs. Kagura got a lower Ultimate cooldown (down to 36-30s) and increased early Skill 1 damage. If you play mid lane, this patch reshapes the entire hero pool.

#Why This Matters for Your Ranked Games
The gap between Advanced Server and Original Server is usually one to three patches, roughly two to six weeks. That's enough time to:
- Learn how a new hero plays before your opponents do
- Understand what's getting nerfed so you can transition off a hero before the nerf hits
- Identify sleeper buffs (heroes that get quietly stronger without the community noticing)
When Moonton announced the mage rebalance on 2.1.56 Advanced Server, players who saw it early knew to start building comfort on Aurora and Gord before those picks became contested. That's a real competitive edge in ranked.
You can track live meta shifts and how they land on the official server at mlbbhub.com/meta. Cross-reference it with what you're seeing on the Advanced Server, and you'll consistently be ahead of the curve.
#Frequently Asked Questions
Does my main account progress transfer to the Advanced Server?
No. The Advanced Server is completely separate. You start from scratch, but all heroes are unlocked for free so you can test any hero without spending anything.
How often does the Advanced Server update?
New content drops every Thursday when the server resets. Moonton typically releases one major Advanced Server patch per two-week cycle.
Can I convert Vanguard Coins to Diamonds on the original server?
Yes. Vanguard Coins convert 1:1 to Diamonds. Use the Recharge Center on the Advanced Server to exchange them, and the Diamonds will appear in your original server account.
Is the TapTap Advanced Server the same content as the in-app version?
Yes, both run the same Advanced Server patch. The TapTap route is useful if you're outside SEA or can't get a slot through the in-game Switch Server method.
Will everything on the Advanced Server make it to the official game?
Not necessarily. Some heroes get delayed, some skills get reworked before release, and occasionally content gets scrapped entirely. Treat everything on the Advanced Server as "likely but not confirmed" until Moonton makes an official announcement.
