Final Twilight
In this universe, there exists a prophecy of the end: the Final Twilight.
It foretells the death of the universe. Stars and galaxies falling to the destructive forces of the Harbingers, devoured by the Great Nothingness. The Celestials will fall and all existence will be wiped out.
Yet, only the Celestials have any hope of standing against the Harbingers. The Celestials mastered the ability to convert the energy of the stars into celestial power to fight against the Final Twilight in a bid to rewrite destiny.
Overwhelmed by the onslaught of the Harbingers led by The Endless One, the Celestials fell one by one. Johnson was far from the strongest, and could only gather a limited amount of astral energy, which kept him from the forefront where the fighting was fiercest. During the Battle of the End, Johnson circled The Endless One while riding Aethon, the Celestial Steed, and discovered the source of the Harbingers' power. Hidden behind the enemy was an entity that resembled a black hole: the Great Nothingness. As it devoured all in its path, it generated power for the Harbingers.
As the last remaining Celestial, Johnson carried the hope of his people and was prepared to sacrifice himself to stop the Harbingers. He used all of his strength to gather enough astral energy that far exceeded his abilities, and together with Aethon, plunged straight into the heart of the entity.
Immense destructive energy pierced through Johnson and clashed with the astral energy within him—the volatile mix coursed through his veins, but it did not destroy him. He used this fusion of energy to defeat The Endless One and sealed the remnants of its power into his axe. Aethon became an astral soul and attached itself to the Shield of the Heavens.
The war for the universe had finally ended and the Harbingers' power receded for the time being as Johnson became the Sovereign of Realms. He mourned for his lost kin, then set off to rebuild all the shattered galaxies and restore order to the universe.
However, the prophecy lived on and the Harbingers bided their time. Johnson inherited the Divine Will to protect the universe as the Sovereign of Realms, and now roams the stars, rebuilding galaxies and searching for new allies.
